BOX OFFICE REPORT: ‘Deuce Bigalow: Republican Gigolo’ Only Made $32 on Opening Weekend

Strong word of mouth kept audiences away from theaters.

From a bush outside of an empty theater, I can now confirm that Rob Schneider's Deuce Bigalow: Republican Gigolo opened to a box office record low of $32 across 24,800 showings during its opening weekend after accounting for significant ticket refunds.

The film debuted in a pre-release screening at CPAC 2026 to a captive audience. A woman wearing a three-foot-tall foam MAGA hat provided her first impressions during a Fox News exit interview.

"I was worried the movie being set in Los Angeles like the first one would mean it was just a lazy retread but adapting it for modern times to show how far we've fallen as a society was smart... though, but all his clients being Daily Wire hosts dressed as blue-haired Gen Z transwomen was excessive, even for me. Four awkward kissing scenes between Jordanna Peterson and Deuce was just too much." Asked if she'd see the film again when it was available in theaters, she replied, "You know, I'm just so glad Rob is still getting work. Oh good! They're unchaining the doors now!"

Regional director of AMC Theatres, Clive Cineclose, offered industry insight into the film's performance.

"The sales figures are quite deceiving, actually,” Cineclose said, while clearing moths out of one of his theater’s cash registers. “It's not like people didn't see it; they just didn't stay. A typical new release will have about a 0.2% refund rate, sometimes up to 0.7% if De Niro is phoning it in—overall, people are very willing to sit through slop. Deuce 3 had a refund rate of 99.9958%. Unprecedented. Across 516 theaters we only had 1 customer sit through the whole thing."

Hollywood Time$ tracked down that lone AMC customer who watched the full film.

"I don't see what the big deal is, really. I had a good time,” said Sam Jacobson, area film buff, and sole owner of a Deuce Bigalow: Republican Gigolo popcorn bucket. “I got the ticket free through Facebook; guess it were some sorta promo thing like 'Sound a Freedom' where people could buy'em for friends? So not like I could get a refund anyway and weren't like I got nothing else to do on a Saturday afternoon ever since my wife took the kids. I reckon I’d see it again. Assuming it was free."

At press time, Rob Schneider had been seen at AMC theaters around town, attempting to, “get his cut” of the $32 dollar box office haul. The bush I hid in for this scoop was a Golden Raspberry Bush.
