Netflix Using Entire WB Break-Up Fee to Greenlight ‘The Electric State 2’

Subscription price increases also confirmed.

From a bush outside of Netflix HQ, I can now confirm that following the streamer’s exit from their WB deal, The Big N is now earmarking all $2.8 trillion received from the deal’s termination fee to start production on a sequel to the 2025 smash hit The Electric State Netflix Co-CEO, Ted Sarandos, confirmed the sequel while appearing on numerous podcasts earlier this week.

“We’re disappointed that the WB deal fell through,” Sarandos said with a big smile on his face during an interview on The Town. “But when one door closes, a window opens. That window for us is returning to a world we love. That’s right, we’re bringing the Russos back. Both of them. It’s my pleasure to announce The Electric State 2. Coming in 2030. Get ready everyone. All your favorite characters, including Millie Bobby Brown, are coming back.”

The Russo Brothers are hard at work putting the finishing touches on Avengers: Doomsday, but TMZ was able to catch up with the brothers out for lunch, following the announcement of Electric State 2.

“Wow, wait. They greenlit another sequel,” One of the Russo’s asked the TMZ reporter (I can’t tell which brother is which at this point, honestly). “This is news to us, it’s great though. We’re busy saving the MCU and have that Grey Man sequel they greenlit for some reason. We were honestly worried that we were going to run out of work, but it’s great to know Netflix still has our backs.”

Sarandos did have a bit of unwelcome news to share along with the latest sequel.

“Look, the WB deal not going and shooting the most expensive sequel ever are going to come at a cost,” Sarandos said still with a big smile on his face in another podcast interview. “All subscription levels are going up in price. Now don’t get me wrong, Netflix is in excellent condition. Have you seen our stock prices? We just need to create a little cushion to keep us in the black for years to come. The Russos and Millie aren’t cheap, you know.”

At press time, Sarandos was spotted on his new super yacht, the SS That’s All Folks. The bush I hid in for this scoop was a Cash Bush.
