TMZ Ends Hollywood Coverage to Follow Jimothy
Trash Panda meets trash.
From a bush outside of TMZ HQ, I can now confirm that the entertainment new organization is giving up on Hollywood and celebrity coverage to put more effort into following raccoon heartthrob, Jimothy. TMZ founder, Harvey Levin, discussed the pivot in a recent YouTube video.
“Hollywood is dead,” Levin said, arms crossed and leaning on a desk. “Our viewer numbers are not great. No one wants to click on videos about Hollywood stars anymore. What the people really want is cute little critters. We saw it with P-22 a few years back and now we’re seeing it again with Jimothy. So, for that reason, we’re leaving the carcass of Hollywood behind and moving to Seattle.”
Levin states the site's recent launch of, TMZ DC, a new branch that follows U.S. lawmakers, has served as a great “dry run” for the newest branch.
“TMZ DC gave us experience in covering slimy creepy crawlies,” Levin said, pointing at footage of Texas Senator Ted Cruz. “Now we can take that experience and follow Jimothy 24/7. We want to be there for all of it. His first love, his first child, and of course his first DUI.”
Not everyone is happy about TMZ leaving southern California.
“Who am I supposed to call when I go for a walk around Ventura,” said an A-lister who wished to remain anonymous for the first time in their life. “Like sure, the paparazzi are annoying, but they’ve got to make a living, and I’ve got to get the eyeballs on everything I am doing. Won’t Harvey reconsider and think of the poor celebs who won’t get the coverage they need without him?”
At press time, Levin confirmed that TMZ Wild had obtained a sex tape that allegedly featured Jimothy. The bush I hid in for this piece was a Trash Shrub.
